Smiley Face is Born

The saddest thing about the Becca Beushasen saga, is the emotional miscarriage her readers going through.

She wrote a blog claiming to be a pregnant young woman carrying a doomed child.

Made-for-t-v.

Though her site been scrubbed already here is a captured page before she took it down (nothing ever goes away!)

April’s Mom

Ironically her theme music has the lyric “belief makes things true.”

What began as a cathartic act to expiate her pain over the loss of  her own child – turned into a very public drama.

Read my take on celebrity here.

That’s what this woman was after – all them spoons coming at her.

The probably unexpected out pouring of love and attention Ms. Beushausen received from her target market was staggering.

She accepted gifts, teeshirts were made.

Thousands followed the pregnancy for months – described in rosy depiction, with a lot of hooks thrown in.

Now she had them, she didn’t want to lose them.

Advertisers lined up – pro-lifers supporting her.

Then she had to pull a rabbit out of the hat.

A few hours into Sunday the child born but quickly died.

Her big mistake was to gild her fraud with photos of the tiny corpse.

That’s when the whole thing blew up.

Someone recognized the doll she used.

It’s all over.

Except that she will probably sell the rights to the movies for a million bucks, cuz it don’t matter what you do as long as it goes over big.

First Rule of Vaudeville.

Flea circus.

Truth is more accessible, manipulated and fluid than at any period in acknowledged history.

This is also the only time when most of the planet is communicating with folks they will never see or hear.

Virtuality making everything a head game.

We cloak our motives and intentions as well as our identities.

The Wide Wide Web is an Alternet Reality - where everybody got something to hide.

Only the what and whys are different.

Relying on gut instincts is hampered by lack of visceral clues.

Hence emoticons.

We don’t get the joke until we see smiley.

Here there be monsters.

The Virtual Ocean roils with counterfeit tales.

We all grapple with how to tell the truth without giving the show away.

Lots of fact in fiction.

My autobiography epitomises this opinion.

You know I’m going to make most of it up from what I can’t remember.

;~)

That’s just good theatre.

Love,

LuRain
