To  Espouse

Aside the matrimonial connotation,

means to pledge to a cause, giving loyality and support,

and to shoot your mouth off.

Ten years ago, if you’d have leaned over my bed, 

 whispering how it was going to be nowadays,

I have thought it incomprehensible.

*

Computer, DVD, internet; I barely knew they existed.

After my stroke, I got parked in front of the T.V. a lot.

Watching the programmes on the PBS and History Channel, began my education;

reminding me of my past, teaching me about the world, 

increasing my vast vocabulary.

*

Once I was well enough,

the lady I live with thought playing around with the computer might be therapuetic.

 It opened the Whole Wide Web to me. 

 I’m hooked.

We can spend hours on this thing -

until her back bent as mine

 and my eye feels like a gin evening.

*

As much as I enjoy writing the blog things, 

 I miss interaction.

One of the great joys of performing is emotional union with the crowd.

This screen seems flat and mute.

A one way mirror.

If everyone’s on stage, where the audience?
